Discussions Mechanical systems Renewable energy Solar thermal collectors Are there any updates on the progress of the second demonstration house? The house is now standing, it is the first house built of our new prefab modular kit houses available across Canada and the US. you can see a full break down of the mechanical systems, energy performance and total carbon footprint on this page here -

There have been Legalett air-heated floors across Canada and the U.S. since the mid-70s, and even longer in Sweden where the company originated, so there is nothing new there; it's the addition of the solar air panels that is new at this point. We expect to see about 60-70 % of the heat load but we won't know for sure until the winter of 2020 - 2021 when they are in full operation.
I imagine you saw the installation video of the slab on grade kit here as well as the radiant tubing.
Thanks for the reply. I noticed this new demo house is 2 stories. Is the Legalett system also supplying radiant air heating for the second story? Or is there a supplemental heating system for floor #2?
