This one-day course will focus on the regulatory and technical aspects of rainwater harvesting (RWH) systems for both residential and ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) buildings. Technical aspects discussed include:
- Rainwater catchment and conveyance
- Tank selection and sizing
- Rainwater treatment
- Make-up ("top-up") water system and backflow prevention
- Handling overflows from rainwater storage tanks.
For each of these topics, the regulatory framework will be addressed.
The course is targeted at contractors, builders, designers, architects, regulators or anyone interested in learning about the design, installation and management of RWH systems.
Participants attending the course will be provided with a copy of the Ontario Guidelines for Residential Rainwater Harvesting Systems.
