Installing a chimney for a wood stove or fireplace through the roof is a job that should be done by professionals only. I say this for two reasons – safety of course, to make sure there is no fire risk if the wrong materials is choosen or if it isn’t installed properly, but also for insurance purposes.
If you speak with a licensed local fireplace / chimney installer they would for sure know what you need. Regional building codes may differ for one thing, but your insurance company would most likely want to see documentation that the chimney was installed properly or you may not be covered in the event of a fire.
