Choosing the best air exchanger for a home starts with choosing between an HRV and and ERV (Heat Recovery Ventilation and Energy Recovery Ventilation), but it seems you’ve done that. If not, see here first –
Which is best for a home, and ERV or HRV?
Zehnder is widely regarded at the top of the line home HRV / ERV, and is often a choice for high performance builds like LEED, or Passive House where often no expense is spared in saving every BTU or Watt of energy possible. So, Zehnder is considered about the most efficient, but what we've learned from those that have priced them out, is that you pay dearly for that last little bit of efficiency that may push them ahead of competitors, so while it may be the 'best', it may not have the best ROI.
We've tried different brands over the years, We used a Venmar ERV in our last demo house build and we are very happy with it. You’ve done some pretty diligent research into models, the only thing I would recommend is looking into the cost of ducting and install, as that may vary as well.
