Does radon gas have an odor?
I have a odor in my apatment and the fire department checked it out for gas and carbon and it was ok, but could it be radon gas?

Radon gas does not have an odor. The only way to know if you have radon gas in your home is to buy a radon detector.
For radon mitigation, see here - How to remove radon gas from homes
It would be helpful if there were clear information about radon detection for homeowners, including the fact that radon is colorless, tasteless, and odorless. That way people won’t rely on smells to assess a possible problem.
Thanks Tristan. The problem is that you can't detect it without mechanical sensors, and you can't predict ahead of time when building a home if you are on high risk soil. So really its about taking the vey simple steps when building foundations, or at least that you get your home tested and take measures to fix it if you have elevated levels.
