How do I prevent attic moisture build up in winter?
I have noticed heavy frost build up in my attic space the last 2 years in my home. It is 5 years old and had R50 of cellulose fibre blown in when built. The moisture barrier is properly installed and not modified. I got a bit of leakage in the spring through my master bathroom ceiling.
I have a 6/12 pitch roof with gables at front and back. The buiding code where I live was changed a few years back and does not allow vented soffits within 4 ft of the property line, so my soffits are solid. We have a power vent actuated by temperature in the middle of the attic near the top.
There are two 6 inch vents in each of the front and rear gable end for intake. Any suggestions as to how to solve the moisture build up?
