This project involved a full upgrade from a heavily layered asphalt shingle roof to a premium mechanical-lock standing seam metal roofing system designed for Toronto’s demanding climate. After removing 3–5 layers of existing shingles and addressing aged substrates, Monarchy Roofing installed high-temperature waterproofing, replaced flat roof sections with a two-ply SBS system, and roll-formed all metal panels on site for precision fit.
The scope included custom in-house flashings, enlarged VELUX skylight installation, steel fascia and vented soffits, a Ruukki SIBA TECH European gutter system with custom leaf guards, and a non-penetrating S-5! ColorGard snow retention system. All steel components were fabricated from 25 GA SSAB GreenCoat Pural BT in RR2H3 Dark Graphite.
The result is a long-life, low-maintenance roofing system offering superior weather resistance, improved energy performance, enhanced safety, and modern curb appeal, backed by strong material and workmanship warranties.
