Scott Springer is an accomplished architect with extensive residential and commercial experience on a variety of notable projects in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia with a total construction value in excess of $4.5 billion. Prior to starting his own practice, Scott was a principal with two New York-based international design firms. At HLW, he was principal-in-charge of the firm’s offices in Los Angeles and Shanghai, and at Swanke Hayden Connell he was a member of the firm’s management team and led the effort culminating in the opening of the firm’s Shanghai office. He was also a Senior Associate Principal at KPF and was instrumental in establishing that firm’s Shanghai office. Scott’s diverse project list ranges from exquisite Manhattan apartment renovations to 5-star hotels to 10 million square foot complex international commercial developments. The son of an architect, Scott is renowned for his knowledge of architectural history and is often called an architect’s architect. His ability to work comfortably in traditional and contemporary design vocabularies allows him to create projects that suit each client’s unique vision. Scott’s work has won numerous awards including 2021, 2019 and 2018 athome Magazine A-List awards; multiple Best of Houzz awards; three MIPIM awards; and the AIA Washington Chapter Award of Excellence for Extraordinary Achievement in Architecture. He is the recipient of a Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Award and an Arnold W. Brunner Grant, both awarded by the New York Chapter of the American of Institute of Architects. A graduate of Cooper Union, Scott is a licensed architect in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, South Carolina, and Florida; holds NCARB certification; and is a LEED accredited professional. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the US Green Building Council, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In addition, he is a qualified Historic Architecture professional under the National Park Service’s Professional Qualification Standards, 36CFR, Part 61. He is also an artist whose award-winning work has been exhibited internationally. Scott lives with his wife and son in Westport, Connecticut and on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. In Westport, he is Vice Chair of the Historic District Commission, a member of the Architectural Review Board/Historic District Commission Joint Committee, and a member of the Westport Public Art Collections Committee.
