Adriana was born in Colombia, South America and relocated to Florida in 1981. She received her Bachelor of Design and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Florida. Upon completing her educations, she traveled to Mexico to study architectural restoration with a concentration in Caribbean vernacular and sustainable design. Prior to starting a small firm in 1999 with a partner in Fort Lauderdale, Adriana worked for several large firms where she gained invaluable experience in commercial, industrial, retail, educational/institutional facilities, as well as residential and museum design. In 2012, Adriana launched Finnvold Architecture, Inc. which specializes in High-End Residential Architecture. The firm provides planning, architecture and interior design. Our goal is to work with all kinds of programs, styles and scales providing solutions to programmatic challenges while keeping an honest design that meets codes, budgets and structural/aesthetic requirements. Practicing architecture in South Florida all these years has taught our team to understand the importance of providing solutions that incorporate form and function while responding to the unique characteristics of each project. We make lighting, water and beautiful lush landscape a critical part of our designs while maximizing indoor and outdoor livings spaces.
