Taylor's career has been driven by a passion for learning about the world and striving to make it a better place. This passion has inspired a diverse career in architecture, design, and education around the globe. Prior to founding BaseCamp, he practiced with LMN Architects (2016 AIA National Architecture Firm of the Year) designing large projects in numerous sectors including hospitality, higher education, performing arts, and commercial architecture. He draws his creativity from a wide range of experiences living in the Pacific Northwest, Texas, and New England as well as teaching and performing non-profit work abroad in Thailand and Nepal. With a heavy focus on sustainable design, Taylor is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction, a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) through PHIUS (Passive House Institute U.S.), and a Licensed Architect in the states of Maine and Washington. His design philosophy incorporates unique thinking and meticulous analysis to achieve equitable, efficient, and effective designs across numerous disciplines. When he is not drafting, sketching, or water coloring, Taylor can be found hiking, biking, or skiing with his wife Lauren. He is an avid rock, ice, and alpine climber and an ultra-marathon runner. He and Lauren love exploring new places and discovering new experiences, especially in the beautiful mountains of New England.
