Laura Tietjen is a building designer and the owner of 3 Hues Design Studio LLC. She obtained her Masters of Architecture from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. During her undergraduate career, she was part of an exchange program in Northern California and participated in an architecture study abroad program in Europe. These experiences encouraging her love for travel, culture, and architecture. She has 15 years experience working in art, design, and the architecture field. She is trained in sustainable design, design research, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and administration. She has a strong aptitude for conceptual thinking, creative problem solving, 3D modeling and rendering, marketing and presentation. She enjoys working with families and the community to generate exemplary designs optimizing both function and aesthetics. She has work experience from East Coast to West Coast but always ends up back in the “Land of Entrapment!” She has had the privilege of working for Steven G. Shaw ; Ignition Architecture, Dekker Perich Sabatini, Helbing Lipp Recny, Light and Form Architecture, and Tesser. Outside of work, she is actively involved in her community and spends time with her husband and two children, their Rhodesian Ridgeback and seven chickens. As an UNM alumni player, she supports the local rugby teams, enjoys skiing, hiking, tennis, and being surrounded by nature and wildlife.
