While commercial Mass Timber buildings require both an architect and engineer of record, there is also a need for design assistance from someone with applied skills and knowledge. That’s where Seagate Design comes in.

Conceptual Consultation – Real life input and direction at conceptual stages of design to help ensure that when the project proceeds it will be successful.
Detail Consultation – Mass Timber connections and assemblies are evolving with every project. While some of the newest ideas are great, some can be, well, a bit challenging in real life. Without feedback at the early stages of a project, opportunity can be created for procurement, prefabrication and installation issues that can cause time and financial overruns. Many times a short review of a Mass Timber project prior to IFC drawings can save a project significant amounts of money and time.
Production Drawings – The Seagate Design team has the skills and experience to take IFC drawings and convert to computer aided design drawings required to input into the CNC machinery that will fabricate the Mass Timber products. This is a skill unique to Seagate Design earned over years of lessons learned in the realm of Mass Timber. Again, it is Seagate’s applied knowledge that bridges the gap between architectural and engineered details through manufacturing to installation. With holistic view of the project Seagate Design offers unique insights that are designed to enhance project success and improve quality, timeliness and cost of a project.
