Rick Stapel founded Hearth & Home in response to a growing community that was in need of reliable, locally-based fireplace maintenance and repair services. The company was founded on Whidbey Island in 1994. Over time, the needs of our customers began to increase and this required the company to also update their equipment. Based on the demand, Rick decided to expand the company to include new sales of stoves, fireplaces, inserts, along with complete permitting and installation. Hearth & Home rapidly grew larger over the years and as a result Rick’s wife Debi joined the team to oversee daily operations. Today, with help from great staff and the passion for perfection we continue to serve Whidbey and Anacortes and the San Juan Islands
