Can you use an existing well and heat pump for geothermal?

I have an unused drilled well and a relatively new (2018) heat pump.  Can I use these to convert economically to geothermal heating/cooling?

Can you add furring to 2 x 4 walls to hold 2 by 6 insulation?

Has anyone had experience with furring out 2 by 4 walls to take 2 by 6 insulation? You can for sure add 2 inches to your 2x4s so they can accommodate 5.5" batts.
