In 2006, David Mishkin founded DSM Architecture with the mission of delivering comprehensive design and construction management services for a variety of project types including residential and commercial buildings and interiors. The firm focuses on a collaborative effort between Client, Architect and construction services as a means of creating superior and sustainable design solutions. As founder of DSM Architecture, Mr. Mishkin oversees all phases of the design and construction process providing the vision necessary to execute the successful resolution of refined space planning and construction details. DSM Architecture prides itself on design expertise informed by an extensive knowledge of building methods, materials, codes and zoning ordinances. DSM Architecture also provides expediting services to facilitate the efficient delivery of building permits often required by local and state managing agents and municipalities. The firm also focuses on construction and land planning uses to mitigate the impact that buildings and infrastructure have on the site to symbiotically integrate built form with the environment. Prior to founding DSM Architecture, Mr. Mishkin worked at Mitchell/Giurgola Architects as a Project Architect and design team leader for institutional, corporate buildings and laboratory research facilities. Mr. Mishkin has also worked for Ehrenkrantz, Eckstut and Kuhn Architects (EEK) designing urban master plans and residential apartment buildings in consultation with Meltzer Mandl Architects. Mr. Mishkin was also Project Architect for Michael Avramides Architect, designing residential apartment buildings and overseeing renovations in New York City. David Mishkin earned his Master of Architecture degree from the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to this Mr. Mishkin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the School of Human Ecology at Cornell University. He is a registered Architect in New York State and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He has been certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) and also the Green Building Council Institute (GBCI) in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP).
