Hello! We are Dustin and Amanda Capri and together, we are Capri Architecture. We live in beautiful Newport, Oregon where we spend our days creating thoughtful buildings and our evenings raising two kids, a dog, a garden, and anywhere from 4-30 rabbits. Our goal for every project is to craft projects that enrich the local community and embody the values of the Oregon Coast. We incorporate modern, sustainable design techniques into architecture that can thrive in our harsh coastal climate. In our work, a project is more than its walls and its views; it is the synthesis of its design, its relationship with the world around it, and its contribution to environmental sustainability. Whenever possible, we incorporate our knowledge of materials and technology as well as urban planning to create projects that appropriately address energy efficiency, carbon emissions, physical health, and natural resource protection. We believe architecture should be a collaborative undertaking where the client is involved in the design process. We work closely with our clients to understand and meet the unique needs of every project. For larger projects, we use interviews, workshops, and participatory charettes to involve the client and future building users in the design process at varying phases. For smaller projects, our designs are iterative with many opportunities for review and refinement from the programming phase through design and into construction. We cultivate an open and interactive environment so that our clients feel connected not only to the design but also to the process through which it was realized. We are committed to producing projects that reflect the innovation and diligence of the Oregon Coast community.
