Gemkow's staff of skilled carpenters, project managers and superintendents average 25 years experience in the construction business. Together, GC personnel have built a solid reputation for integrity, quality of workmanship, timeliness and an ability to work in harmony with the many people and organizations involved on our projects. Owner Smokey McClure has over 26 years of experience in the construction industry in both the Commercial and Residential fields. Over the past 11 years, Smokey has enjoyed building large custom homes, primarily on waterfront properties around Puget Sound and Lake Washington. Smokey is a graduate of Montana State University, studying Construction Engineering Technology. Co-owner, Office Manager and Controller, Leilani McClure comes with over 18 years in sales and marketing as well as 8 years in administrative work. When not at work, Smokey and Leilani spend much of their time involved in youth wrestling where their youngest son competes at local, regional and national levels and managing their growing alpaca herd and chickens at Grapplin' Farms in Langley. John Rogers, company Project Manager has been with Gemkow Construction for over 15 years, leading the way on numerous commercial and residential projects. With over twenty years experience as a carpenter and general contractor prior to coming to Gemkow, John is able to provide our customers with the most accurate of estimates and the best customer service. He and his wife, Robin are long time Whidbey Island residents and enjoy spending time with their family boating, crabbing, plus raising ducks and chickens.
