Our owner and operator, Bruce Sprague, has been in the roofing business for almost 40 years. His father Clyde was a lifetime logger, and at just 11 years old in 1971, Bruce began running his own shake mill to provide high-quality cedar shakes for local roofing companies. He continued operating Bruce’s Shakemill until 1989, when a customer purchasing shakes suggested Bruce install the roof as well. It was then that Bruce’s Shakemill and Roofing was born. The business continued running as a mill and a roofing contractor for many years, installing cedar shake, composition, and torch down roofs. As the demand for cedar roofs diminished, the mill closed to allow the company to focus on full-time contracting. We are now a general contractor specializing in roof repair and installation, operating as Bruce’s Roofing, LLC. Customer loyalty and satisfaction is our highest priority.
