The Sietsma family has been building homes for six generations. In 2004, Avtec Homes founder, Larry Sietsma, set his sights on creating affordable, energy–efficient homes for the people of Brevard County, Florida. He had already begun one of the nation’s largest and most respected home building companies 20 years prior, with more than 10,000 homes in Brevard alone. Together with his daughter, LEED–Certified Sandra Forest, Sietsma decided to create a home building company that combined personal values with genuine affordability and beautiful energy–efficient designs— for savings to benefit the homebuyer far into the future.
