Architect
Gabe has worked in ecological building and design since 1996. He began his career as a builder specializing in natural building techniques across Canada and the United States, where he gained experience encompassing framing, renovations, new construction, traditional timber framing, millwork, and finish carpentry.
These hands-on experiences of “making” propelled his creative interest in design, leading him to earn a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies and a Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University. His career has taken him through dynamic architectural practices in Berkeley, CA, Portland, OR, and Halifax, NS, leading to over a decade with Simmonds Architecture in Ottawa, ON.
In 2021, he founded Prost Architecture, a design studio focused on spaces that blend clean design, refined details, and environmental integrity. Intimately involved with all phases of a project, Gabe leads from the “napkin” concept sketch to the meticulously finished full realization.
