Anita Jorgensen, IESNA, IALD, LEED, LC has been practicing architectural lighting design in New York for over twenty years. Her background in art history and theatrical lighting design brings a strong sense of aesthetics and drama to her lighting approach. Her hands-on experience gained from extensive exhibition lighting design work translates into specifications for lighting systems which not only meet the immediate lighting requirements, but also provide for durability, ease of maintenance, and long term flexibility. Anita received a BA in Art History and Fine Arts, Magna Cum Laude from Hunter College followed by a grant from the City University of New York to study Italian Renaissance Art and Fine Art in Florence, Italy. Anita received an MFA in Design, accompanied by a Teaching Assistantship, from New York University. Following graduate school, she joined the lighting design firm of Fisher Marantz Stone, where she spent several years as a designer and project manager. After FMS she became a staff lighting designer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art where she designed the lighting for special exhibitions, permanent art installations, period rooms and architectural renovations of galleries and offices. Anita's retail experience includes four years as the window display lighting designer for Barneys New York. In addition, she was the lighting designer for special events at New York's historic Rainbow Room and has extensive experience in theatrical lighting.
