LMG Architects can be traced back to Atlanta, Georgia in 2005. LMG’s co-founder Lura Godfrey worked at a mid-size design firm focused mostly on schools and churches. Lura was doing great work but had lost touch with the aspects of design that she really loved. Lura knew she needed to venture off in pursuit of a career that felt more personal; so she founded LDG Design, a small design studio focused on residential additions and renovations. During this time, Lura’s husband Mark worked for several, larger, corporate design firms. Although Mark was gaining invaluable experience in his corporate role, he soon realized that his story was beginning to sound a lot like Lura’s. Mark eventually left his firm to join Lura on her entrepreneurial journey. And with that, LDG Design became LMG Architects on January 1, 2014.
