JKOA provides architectural services for historic buildings and for new buildings in historic contexts. Services range from research, investigations, and design through construction administration. Building types include museums, churches and other places of worship, universities, lighthouses, battlefields and forts, cemeteries and monuments, parks, visitor centers, theaters, commercial and office buildings, residences, and outbuildings, together with their associated landscapes. Designing for the care of an historic building requires a thorough understanding of its construction, its condition, the causes of its maladies, and the options for repair. In our multidisciplinary approach, we collaborate with professionals who are recognized national leaders in their respective disciplines to create a JKOA Project Team, each assembled to address the specific needs of the project. Asterisks below indicate services provided at least partially by such specialists.
