Kelly Green Energy Raters is run and operated by the owner, Kelly Ross Gillespie. Kelly is a certified Home Energy Rater with over 15 years of professional experience in the energy and environmental field with nearly 10 years specifically focused in energy efficiency. Kelly’s interest in energy efficiency began in the 1970’s when she assisted her father add more insulation to their home’s attic. This one project set the stage for Kelly’s interest in protecting natural resources. Kelly went on to earn a degree in Natural Resources from Cornell University and a Masters degree in Public Policy from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. Kelly’s renewed interest in energy efficiency began while serving on the Board of Directors for Sun Power in Denver, Colorado and has held positions at the Renewable Energy Policy Project and the Alliance to Save Energy. In 2007, Kelly became a HERS-certified energy auditor and in 2009, a certified verifier for the National Association of Home Builders Green Building Program. Kelly also verifies green homes for the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes program and in 2013 became a certified Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst and Envelope Professional. Kelly Green Energy Raters is a member of RESNET and the Building Performance Solutions, LLC of Fairfax, Virginia is their RESNET Provider.
