Megan began her simulation career teaching engineers and architects in North America how to model their custom project designs in simulation software tools with Integrated Environmental Solutions, LTD (IES). She moved to Portland, Oregon with IES in 2017 to help develop software that offered more explicit modeling options to engineers for advanced mechanical system designs. Through her involvement with the local ASHRAE chapter, Megan found an opportunity to continue teaching undergraduate engineering students about building energy systems at the University of Portland. Seeking to integrate her energy modeling experience with her talent for education, Megan founded Alentur in 2018 to offer building energy simulation and review services. Since then, Alentur has reviewed hundreds of LEED project submissions and completed energy models for LEED certification as well as state energy code compliance. Megan continues to teach Energy Efficiency in Buildings at the University of Portland and share her experience in sustainability with the incoming leaders of the architecture & engineering industry.
