A healthy slab

  • The absence of basement eliminates the possibility and the proliferation of mold. The house is built on rock at the summit of a small hill to eliminate the  risk of flooding.
  • The 8 "concrete slab rests on 2 ft of compacted sand covered with polythene and includes 4 inches of foam insulation. The slab retains heat well in winter and stays cool in the summer.

Building enclosure:

  • Insulation conforms to Novoclimat standards.
  • ½ " XPS foam insulation in addition to the 6" mineral wool and ½ "thermofoïl for a performance of approximately R32 on the walls and R40 for the roof.
