Enter the Scrooser. The Scrooser is a German engineered electric scooter with a top speed of 24 km (15 mph) and a range of 35.5 km (22 miles). It works with an Impulse Drive that is literally kickstarted by it's rider as the engine engages when the scooter reaches speeds over 3 km per hour. With its fat tires and and minimalist design it's no surprise the Scroozer was described by whitezine as a "Harley Davidson for sidewalks".

The Scrooser not only got legs through Kickstarter, the crowd sourced financing website for independent projects, it exceeded it's funding goal by more than 60K.

Scrooser founder Jens Thieme described the product as "a completely new vehicle category." He added: "“We are very happy with the success of Scrooser on Kickstarter. With the fresh capital, we can now take final developments of our innovative Impulse Drive and we get a lot closer to our goal. "

Before you jump on the site and get one shipped, it could be worth looking into how accepting your particular city is to electric scooters, and whether getting around so stylishly will earn you a high five from law enforcement, or a ticket.
